I think I’m going to pick up a new strikemaster 40v. I’m currently running the Honda 4 stroke with a 8″ bit. I was thinking about getting the 10″ bit on the new 40v. Are they the same attachment so I can run the 8″ and 10″ on both augers?

Same. A buddy did that. Personally, I’d put the 8″ on the electric and the 10″ on the gas. Or just sell the gas auger with the 8″ bit (more demand) and get a 8″ electric. You’re likely never going to use the Honda again unless there’s 36″ of ice.

That was my plan to put the 10″ on the Honda for in my permanent shack.

Just curious, why would you want to use a gas auger in the shack if you had an electric to use? Wouldn’t the lack of fumes be desirable?

Yes they are the same. Here is the good news, using the 40V platform the 8″ and 10″ cutting speed/performance is almost exactly the same. Keep your 8″ and get the new 40V with a 10″ then your covered.
