1st street dam 4/5/08

was down at the first street dam today for a couple hrs worked jigs, jigs with minnows and didnt have any luck but 2 snagged suckers. at least i remember what it feels like to fight a fish again

anyone know anything on the night bite on the cedar river?

I haven’t heard but it should be fair for catfish. Were going to fish a breakline I found tonight that looks really nice. With the fast water in rest of the river in that immediate area I know most of the walleyes wanting to stay out of the current are going to be in this area. This beakline runs for 300 yrds and is the only one in that stretch of the river and its right over one of my honey holes. I’ll post if we do any good.

My daughter hooked a nice flathead last night and it threw the hook. She could hardly turn it and it bent the gullet in a 3 ought. treble hook. We seen a 10 pound flathead caught tonight on 6″ shad, both nights were from shore.
