Lund pedestals are a pain to move. I’ve tried several different light oils. Afraid of a possible mess from a grease. Any suggestions?

I use silicone spray on mine. When I bought the boat last years I couldn’t get the posts out they were so tight sprayed some silicone and they came right out and I haven’t had to spray yet this year.

That anti seize is horrible to get on your carpet, hands, or anything else. I haven’t solved this problem in my boat either. I have taper locks but the problem is the same.

Any “wet” grease will attract dirt/dust/sand and be problematic. Use a dry lubricant. WD40-Dry Lube or White Lithium.

My Father had that problem with his Crestliner for years. We lubricated those things with WD-40, grease, etc to try and make them less sticky but as others have indicated they just become stubborn over time. Plus them moisture gets in there too from rain, splash, etc which doesn’t help.

Eventually the bottom of the seat stems began to come apart too. He replaced the stems with a one-piece one instead (non-height adjustable) and the problem mostly went away.

I’ve got a Ranger with the turn/screw in ones and it much better than those slide/pop in ones.

Remove .001 from the bottom of the post with sandpaper or power tool.

That was actually my next step if there wasn’t any good ideas here. Probably just gonna sand the base of the pedestal some to allow better fit. Thanks guys
