Meet Dave. Respected individual at work who absolutely LOVES his new Hobie Cat he bought last winter at a show. Dave’s been using the Cat along with his arsenal of spinner bait tackle since essentially ice out this past March. His little pedal powered dingy can reach in back water areas in the Trempealeau area in which a flat bottom would struggle.

He pulled this monster Monday (9/23) in an area that has given up some rather larger than large large mouth all summer long.

    nICE fish Dave!

Wow! That looks like a really big fish! I’ve caught a few 20-21 inch Bass over the last few years and have gotten photo’s. In my photo’s they really don’t look all that impressive at all (even with my ape like arms stretched way out ). In this photo, that fish LOOKS huge, so it’s got to be really big. Congrat’s to your buddy Dave on a real nice catch.

It was weighed on a digital scale at Schafer’s Bait shop in Onalaska.

    9lbs 1oz.

    25.5″ long.

And YES. It was caught on the Mississippi River. Not a farm pond corn fed pet.

truly a fish of a lifetime and would have been a possible state record come spring! On the end of my line, I don’t think it would have made it back into the water either. Assuming this fish is getting mounted, be sure to put some pics up when it’s put on the wall!
