Well after 6 years without a dog, we added another member to our family.
Our yet to be named GSP has spent his first night with his new best friends.
It went rather well. He woke twice and house training seems to be going as planned.
Which is fantastic as the car ride home was anything but as he whined and cried the entire trip.
Looking forward to training and hunting over him.
    Ron

Cute! Good luck with everything. They’re a challenge but having a new best friend is so worth it!

    Thanks Everyone!!

This is our second GSP. We named him Dash.
First one was too smart for his own good. Solid birddog with a great nose. Many past/present IDO members had hunted over him.

This one seems to have that same trait. Smart, solid nose for a pup. We have had just one accident so far, but I will claim that as I did not take him out right away after his bath.
He learn that he does not go outside with out his leash. We keep it on top of his crate. I came home too this after work.

Love the name! And I like how his tail is docked at a bit longer length. My boy Remi has a tiny nub of a tail, whereas Fritz’s tail is a bit longer. I like them better when they’re a little longer, but they’re cute either way. smirk

Just thought an update was do.. and what a change in a short time.

He has learned to love car rides, falls a sleep with in minutes and made a family vacation trip out to Mount Rushmore and Devils Tower without issues.

He finally is tall enough to see over/around and not be timid of the high grass, spring wheat, corn rows. He was a heal walker to begin, now he leads the way.

Wife was mad when I introduced him to birds.

“You changed my puppy” she said.
“He now is hunting every walk, pointing squirrels, rabbits, robins and oh all those smells, he has too smell everything!”

We worked on all that so Dash walks as he should for her yet hunts for me when it is time.

Funny how those dogs never stop hunting once they figure it out. I broke out a shotgun Friday night and I thought the dog was gonna have seizure he was so excited.

Reminds me of Star, my last GSP. Any gun, blaze orange, fireworks and he would start foaming at the mouth like Cujo. People seriously wondered about him
