I’ve never changed one before. My main livewell pump in the Skeeter went out over the weekend. Obviously, it just so happens to be the hardest pump motor to reach too. It’s burried! Anyhow, I was just looking to see if anyone has changed one in a Skeeter and/or if anyone has any tips for me? Do I just change the upper cartridge,… or how do these work? I know it’s not plugged and I know its not a fuse. When/if it runs, it barely hums and water barely – if even – trickles out. Other than getting to it, it can’t be too hard??? …Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Sorry. No need to reply. I got it out.
It took getting a right handed person to get it out though.
I did not have enough strength in my right hand (I’m a lefty) at the angle it was at to do it myself.
It seems you “righties” are good for something after all! I just don’t understand why you reel with the wrong had though…. Hmmmmm

LOL!! I was thinking the same thing about “Lefties”!! Ever notice how incredibly difficult it is or odd feeling to use a spinning reel with actually your dominate hand. Glad you got it changed!!
