Went down to Saylorville Thursday night without the boat to kill a couple hours throwing small plugs at white bass. I didnt find any whites but I did find 2 nice largemouth bass in the riprap.

Fished from 8:30 till 10:00pm around the rocks at Lakeview ramp. The water was like a mill pond. Except for the skeeters, it was a nice night to be out there. I was casting a small floating plug (shad pattern) around the rocks when I caught both bass. Both times I would feel the plug get close to shore with a tap, tap, tap as it began bouncing off the rocks. Both bass felt like I had snagged the plug in the rocks; both hit 4 feet or less from shore. Nothing wall-worthy, both were 2-3 lbs but a ton of fun.

The action died as soon as the light disappeared. All I had with me were 4 white and/or silver plugs. I should have brought some black plugs for the dark.

    GO FISH!
