Caught sightfishing on a #14 trout fly hook and a nibbly bit of wax worm from a platform 15′ off the water.

I have accumulated a couple dozen in 6-8″ range in the freezer for early season cut bait. The biggest one I saw caught was approaching 14″ last week.

I think Chubs down here are one of the prettiest fish that swims when the males are aglow and speckled with spawning colors. I’ll try to get a few pictures this spring.
