when does the ice fishing season end?? i’ve heard two different things. one, you can fish for panfish all year round so you can ice fish until you arent comfortable with the ice anymore. and two, you have to stop at the end of Feb.
There is no such thing as an ice fishing season, except pertaining to when you can have permanent ice shacks on the ice. The seasons are covered by the MN DNR’s rules for a body of water. Most inland waters have year-round panfishing with closed seasons on walleyes, northern, bass, musky. On the other hand, some of the Mississippi River pools are open to almost all species year-round.
