Rapala Slab Rap Hooks

    Do any of you folks upsize the #12 hooks on your 1/4oz size-05 Slab Raps?

    I often go up a notch on my walleye spoons, but haven’t yet tried with the Slab Rap.

    Might want to upgrade the split rings while you are at it, had some break.

    X2 on the split rings.

    If the 1/4 ounce has a size 14 hook out of the box, then you can get by with a 12 without messing with the lure’s action. Joes has Mustad trebles right next to the Z-Viber lure selection that are slightly heavier wire than the usual #35647 Mustad treble. 12’s and anything smaller might be tough to find in a brick and mortar store. I checked Netcraft and they don’t show any trebles beyond size 10 in any brand. Try both Barlows and Captain Hooks if you can’t find anything locally.
