Heavy rains have the river very high and very fast and dirty. The best bite has been out in the lake in 27-29 ft. For us and shallower in the evening

September 23, 2019 at 6:11 am #1880488Heading home today. Hope to come back up for the river bite. Please post if you here when it starts
September 23, 2019 at 8:56 am #1880509Will do. I see the riveris running close to 30000cfm right now. I wont be going unless it drops below 20000. Hopefully well below that.
hndPosts: 1575September 23, 2019 at 9:25 am #1880512there was one year we went up 2nd week of october. river was so high. But we were deterimined to fish that river. 3/4oz jigs and we fished almost 10′ from shore which is pretty unusual for the river near vidas landing. it was slower than normal for us for big fish but still had a lot of eaters.
September 24, 2019 at 8:45 am #1880689A group of us will be headed that way in 3 1/2 weeks, I’m listening too.

No bueno on the river. Still over triple the normal flow for this time of year.
We’re going to hit the lake this weekend.

October 8, 2019 at 12:08 pm #1883479I fished Saturday and Sunday, launched at Birchdale and we did good both days, lots of current for sure, just had to pick your spot, fished Rainy Lake on Thursday and Friday with poor results
