What do you prefer for a knot when tying on the hook for your live bait rigs (lindy rigs)? Snell, Palomar, Uni, other? Or does it make much difference?

Palomar for me. But that’s my go to

For tying to the hook it’s the snell knot for me. I thinks it’s the only knot that I’ve never had fail, ever.

I use the snell knot, seems to pull the hook in a nice straight line and you can leave the tag end long and add a second or third hook

I use the snell, or a simple fisherman’s knot, twisted around the main line 4 to 5 times depending on weight of line.

Snell is a cleaner knot with less noticable tag end, but the tag end comes in useful for holding crawlers on, also feel an improved clinch or similar will allow more natural movement of a minnow. Small details matter for finicky bites.

I’ve been tying the snell, but am not very smooth at it. Especially tricky with 6lb floro and questionable eyesight!
