    Pool 9 ramp conditions ~

Winneshiek landing is accessible but laced with heavy current! Trailering is difficult for even the most experienced.

Big Slough Landing (IA Side of the 82 dike) is not accessible due to high water.

DeSoto Town Landing (picture from last Oct 2010) is accessible but waders are a must. As of this writing we’re knocking on the 14 foot mark in Lansing (13.95′). This picture was taken on Oct 9th with a 14.1″ stage. Only difference between this pic and today is the green leaves on the trees.

Blackhawk Park is closed. Water is spilling over the road in front of the general store similar to pic taken last fall with a 14.1′ stage.

Victory Town Landing is accessible but laced with heavy current. For those of you that don’t know this landing ~ she’s 100% sand and qualifies more as a beach than landing. Wouldn’t attempt to launch anything larger than 16′ boat here.

Bax Axe Landing is closed. The Bad Axe river has been out of it’s banks for a week and half now.

Genoa Power Plant is accessible. No doubt the safest and best place to launch on the upper end of Pool 9 right now.

We’re down about a foot from the crest as I type. As long as we stay headed in that direction that’s an excellent start. Secondly ~ we could really use some warmer days & nights to get out of the low to mid 40’s for surface temps.

10′ to 12′ of water (Lansing) + 55 to 60 degree surface temp = GO TIME
