Summer locations for northerns Pools 3,4,5

    I have been meaning to post this for a while. Are there better locations to specifically target northerns on Pools 3, 4, 5. I am not looking for GPS coordinates. I am wondering if anybody specifically targets them in the summer or would this be a spring only affair?

    Sub-question: do the northern typically hang out all year in the sloughs? Are there good numbers? Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

    As the waters heat up, look for cooler streams and rivers for pike to hang out. Near the mouths.

    Pretty much goes for all rivers including the St Croix, WI, ect.

    I can tell you this much, usually this time of year, you can’t troll a crankbait anywhere near the pepin boat launch without northerns crushing it. Especially the mile or so south.

    rush river area on pool 4 holds a few
