Newb advice

Gonna be going by leach on Thursday and was wanting to stop and do a little portable fishing. Could you guys give some advice on where to go as I don’t know ice conditions. Somewhere a can walk out with a portable without hiking a mile. Just looking for someone to point me in the right direction. And maybe some bait recommendations.

Well, it might be close to a mile..
Erickson’s landing (kabekona access)toward sand point is a good bet for better sized fish.
Going out of Walker marina in town to any of the humps will put you on 12″-17″ fish.
Whipholt access out to Olson’s reef has 12″+ of ice, but the bite has been slow.
