    Division 54 Championship

Division 54 wrapped up its season with the division championship on Iron Horse Trail Lake on August 23rd. The team of Mark Madison and Joyce Clark both of Valparaiso earned the top spot with a 5 fish limit weighing 13.89lbs. 2nd place went to the father and son team of Rodney and Brian Caughron both of Lincoln with 5 bass weighing 10.39lbs. Rounding out the top 3 was the father and son of team of RJ Walla of Lincoln and Bob Walla of Ceresco with 3 fish weighing 9.81lbs. Big Bass of the tournament went to Ben Benischek and Nick Krajnik both of Lincoln with a nice bass weighing 4.42lbs.

After each tournament this year we grilled hot dogs for everyone. Those times when fishing was tough we heard guys say the one thing they looked forward to each tournament were the hotdogs. We stepped it up a notch for the Division Championship. Following the weigh-in everyone gathered for BBQ brisket and pulled pork along with all the fixings. As quickly as it was devoured I think it is safe to say it was enjoyed by all.

The Division Points Title was handily won by Lee Wubbels and Doyle Languis both of Lincoln. Lee and Doyle competed in all 12 tournaments and weighed in 47 bass for a total of 117.69lbs for the season. The pair won 5 of the division tournaments this year. They also won the Big Bass award 4 times. They solidified their place in the standings by finishing in the top 3 in 9 of the 12 tournaments.

Division 54 added 3 members to the 5 Pound Bass Club this year. We had a tie for the biggest bass of the season at 5.19lbs by Dick Mavis and Craig Vacek. The third person added to the 5 Pound Bass Club was Brian Dolph who was fishing as a sub when he caught his 5.13lb bass. The largest sack of the year went to Jim Kuper and Dick Mavis who caught a 5 bass limit weighing 19.44lbs.

Justin and I would like to thank all of our anglers for coming out and making this our most successful season yet. We would also like to thank the team of Lee Wubbels and Doyle Languis for contributing to our hot dog fund. We look forward to seeing everyone next season.
