My 2021 Iowa Buck

    Took him on November 2nd at 7:35a.m. I was on a nice oak ridge line the southeast corner. Caught him raking a tree , a few grunts on the grunt call and he came in on a string looking for a fight. Shot him at 20 yards through the heart an the rest was history. Cold fronts and high pressure systems are the key.

    Helluva deer! I agree on the cold fronts/high pressure, especially outside peak rut.

    Just an FYI Ive been pheasant hunting in NW Iowa the last two weekends and this past weekend (yesterday) the bucks were chasing the does big time at all times of day. This is probably an excellent week to be out there.
