New Winter Streams Open

    These winter catch & release streams are open from March 1st 2003 through April 1st 2003. April 1st-April 11th, 2003 all streams are open to catch and release. For a complete list of streams check out the MN DNR site or The Fly Guys (MN) site.

    All hooks must be barbless.

    All trout must be returned to the water immediately.

    Winter Season Streams

    Diamond Creek (Filmore County) 5.6 miles Starting at the bridge on township road # 3 and continuing upstream to the source of both branches.

    Gribben Creek (Filmore County) 3.8 miles Starting at the highway 16 bridge and continuing upstream to the source.

    North Branch Creek (Filmore County) 2.59 miles The entire stream is open.

    South Fork Root River (Filmore County) 7.6 miles Starting at the junction of Nepstad Creek and continuing upstream to the upper part of the wildlife area.

    Torkelson Creek (FilmoreCounty) 2.1 miles The entire stream is open from the mouth to the source.

    Wisel Creek (Filmore County) 4.0 miles Starting at the county road # 18 bridge and continuing down stream to the confluence of the South Fork of The Root River.

    Hay Creek (Goodhue County) 7.6 miles Starting at the 325th Street bridge and continuing down stream to the posted point at the state forest land boundary.

    West Beaver Creek (Houston County) 1.9 miles Starting at the mouth and continuing upstream to the posted boundary.

    Bee Creek (Houston County) 1.6 miles Starting at the Minnesota state line and continuing upstream to the driveway bridge in section #29.

    Crooked Creek (Houston County) 6.4 miles Starting at the township road bridge in the southeast corner of section 36 and continuing upstream to the source.

    South Fork Crooked Creek (Houston County) 1.43 miles Starting at the source and continuing upstream through the first land parcel.

    Daley Creek (Houston County) 2.5 miles Starting at highway 16 and continuing upstream until a driveway bridge crosses at the northern part of section 8.

    Swede Bottom Creek (Houston County) 1.0 miles Starting at bridge 1 and continuing upstream to the source.

    Coolridge Creek (Winona County) .13 miles Starting at the mouth and continuing upstream to the posted area.

    Ferguson Creek (Winona County) 1.25 miles Starting at the mouth and continuing upstream to the source.

    Garvin Brook (Winona County) 1.0 miles Starting at the Arches and continuing down stream to the posted point at the state forest land.

    Hemmingway Creek (Winona County) .83 miles Starting at the mouth and continuing upstream to the end of the state land.

    West Branch Money Creek (Winona County) 3.14 miles Starting .25 miles above county road 19 and continuing to the source in section 8.

    Pine Creek (Winona County) 5.6 miles Starting at the mouth and continuing upstream to .10 miles above Hemmingway Creek.

    Rush Creek (Winona County) 6.2 miles Starting at the county road 25 bridge and continuing upstream to the northern boundary of section 10.

    Trout Run Creek (Winona County) 1.0 miles Starting at the mouth and continuing upstream to the state park property.

    Main Branch Whitewater River (Winona County) 11.9 miles Starting at the Winona-Wabasha county line and continuing upstream to the confluence of the Middle and North Branches of The Whitewater River.

    Middle Branch Whitewater River (Winona/Olmstead County) 11.2 miles Starting at the mouth and continuing upstream to the Olmstead County 9 bridge crossing.

    North Branch Whitewater River (Winona/Olmstead County) 7.7 miles Starting at the mouth and continuing upstream to the confluence of Logan Creek.
