I will be on Detroit, there will be open water fish in play but I will be fishing shallow weeds. Good luck to all.

Crazy morning. 9 follows and lost a 40s by the boat. Bit in the 8.

Thought for sure fish would still be near spawning areas with the late ice out but only saw a couple small ones there.

Moved to the basin and went 5 for 6, all had pretty fresh spawning scars. Heard reports fish were on summer pattern spots as well.

All of the fish I saw were on structure. Im guessing the quick warm up pushed them there.

Anyone been muskie fishing recently? I’m thinking of giving it a try this weekend with the big weather change coming.

My account got hacked by a scammer last night! LOL it changed my screen name and started posting random items for sale. I assume it was trying to scam people into buying items too. Of course I couldn’t log back in either. The mods helped me today though, I’m back on track. I see it still shows my location as Hawaii lol

I was really wondering how you made it to Hawaii and already had surf reels for sale lol. That’s weird. I haven’t seen that before

Pics, and heck yeah that’s awesome. That’s my plan tomorrow morning. Trying to drag around a couple super shads. I’ve seen 3 so far this year while targeting bass

Did you give this a try at all? I went and did not pile into anything of the muskie variety. I caught 10 northern pike between 24 and 29 inches.

We did not make it. But are headed to Vermilion tomorrow. Will dedicate 2 days to trying.

I’m on the board this season. Boated a 38 inch tiger muskie this morning. Also caught a bunch of smaller pike, including a 33.5 incher.

Nice fish! Do you generally use smaller stuff for tigers or full size musky lures?

Thanks! I down size from the normal muskie lures. Not super small but essentially pike or magnum bass gear is what I use. It feels like a submarine when I hook into a sizable one.

You could use your normal muskie stuff too but you’d really only be targeting the biggest fish with that tackle. When you down size some, you catch smaller ones too and a number of pike along the way which keeps things a little more interesting.

Anyone been muskie fishing lately? I have only been after them three times this season so far but I intend to start going more as the temps and water cools down.

Planning to try tomorrow. Was on a local lake today and temps were only mid 70s shorter days and wind must be keeping temps down during this hot spell.

I’m planning to go on Friday. There is supposed to be a weather change from warm to cooler with potential rain in the forecast.

Muskie fished for 5 hours in the off and on rain this morning. Not even a sniff or a follow. Tried shallow, deep, and in between with a variety of lures.

Caught 3 pike between 24-28 inches. Water temp was 70 degrees.
