Big Paddlefish Picture – Lewis and Clark

    I took my father-in-law and brother-in-law fishing on Lewis and Clark (Yankton, SD) a couple of weeks ago and my brother-in-law, Tim hooked into this massive Paddlefish. It gave quite a battle on walleye gear but we finally got it in the boat. A quick photo and back she went. Seemed to swim off okay. They are such a cool fish. I thought I’d share a pic with you all. It’s the biggest fish Tim has ever caught by a long shot!

    Wow, I’d just like to see one of those (aside from in the DNR pond), no matter how big…nice fish!

    Tough to say, Brian. My dad caught a 77-pounder in the 1970s. I don’t think this one is quite as long. They are really big around… there’s a lot of girth on these fish. I would guess somewhere between 50 and 70 pounds.

    I was going to guess 70-75 pounds. Dad has pics of 80-90 pound fish from years ago.
