Thank you for a warm welcome

I go to school in illinois and have been ice fishing there but now safe ice is out of the question after the hard rain we got yesterday. im still looking to get out after some gills tomorrow any suggestions on how i should approach this.

Welcome the IDO!!! First thing I would do is to contact your local DNR biologist or warden. They will know where there is a decent panfish bite. Next thing to do is think safety, especially if you’re fishing by yourself!!! With all the rain you are getting, ice will start to deteriorate and you need to know that you are going to be safe getting, while you are on and getting off!!!
