HDS Navionics Background Chart Update

    I just updated my units with 3.0 software but I see there is another update available with the same date (5/11/10) as the 3.0 software update. How do I know if I need it? If I don’t need it and I run the update will it mess anything up?

    From what I can tell, I think that is the update for the earlier hds units that wouldn’t even play navionics to begin with. It says for early productions units (Jan-June 2009). So I am guessing that is what it is.

    If your units play the navionics chip now, I don’t think you need it.

    Maybe somebody else will chime in too.

    Jeremy is correct. If your unit read Navionics cards fine or you don’t use Navionics mapping cards then you do not need the Navionics Background update.
