Yes it will work. Any lakemaster chip will work besides the new VX series.

According to Humming Birds website it has to be the legacy chips. The VX for sure won’t but my search said the V9 the latest before the VX says gen 3 or newer.

I don’t have the smartstrike card, but I have a gen 2 with the regular lakemaster. Came with a MN v3, now running the newer MN v9 maps, no issue.

    From h-birds website:
Humminbird SmartStrike map cards are compatible with first-generation HELIX 9/10/12 models, all GPS-equipped HELIX G2/G2N and newer models, as well as all SOLIX models.

Thanks I asked one of there people via the chat and even though they wanted my serial number which I did not have at the time they said gen 2 wouldn’t run it.
