Lake Zumbro Ice Conditions

Does anyone have a report on the ice conditions for the Zum?

There hasn’t been enough cold yet for any ice there to be safe in my opinion.

There may be walkable ice out there in a couple places but they’d be well away from where the early action takes place. And there are always the few who push the envelope with early ice. All too many times I have left on foot from point A with 5″-6″ of ice and gotten half way to point B only to have water squirt up in cracks of 2″ ice. Current, miserable ice making conditions early on then wet snow on it….I’d wait for a couple weeks or more yet especially with the warm forecast for the next week. That’s not a lake you want to go thru the ice on.
