Lake Zumbro

    New to ice fishing lake Zumbro, and only able to walk on. Is there any fishable areas that you can walk to? Where is there access to these areas?

    People can get permission to cross private yards and use private driveways for walk on access. Some lake residents let you drive out if they keep a maintained ramp but there are darned few of those. The Ponderosa Campground will be the closest drive-on access that is free. The Fisherman’s Inn access is a feed access now. Walk out from the public docks at Fisherman’s is an option but still a long walk.

    If I was looking to walk out I’d head to Postier’s Point or Ryan’s Bay road and start knocking on doors that have access to the water. Either of these locations will shorten a walk considerably.

    Thanks Tom, guess I’ll keep hitting the ponds around town.
