Lake Winnibigoshish

    We are thinking of going to Winnibigoshish this year to ice fish.

    Anyone have any input as far as Resorts and best time to go?

    We stay at Highbanks each year on our annual trip. We have had great luck for Walleyes and perch in January. We fish in portable so we can stay mobile. However, they do have hard shacks to fish out of if you prefer.

    Ive stayed at Highbanks as well, good folks up there.

    Unfortunately my luck up there hasnt been good, I always seem to pick a bad week weather wise and miss the bite by a couple days…

    We stay at Iowana Beach resort at nearby Portage Lake. Easy run to the river road on the SW side of Winni or can get onto Leech Lake Portage or Sucker bays. Not too bad of a drive to Highbanks if that’s hot

    Fished at Highbanks last year. Great people, and the fishing was fire last year for Perch. We couldn’t get bait down fast enough.
