Didn’t do near the fishing that I was hoping. The kids wanted to do more swimming…which was fine with me of course. I did manage to squeeze in some time fishing a couple of areas. Used a lindy rig in depths exceeding 20′ but never found any consistent bites. Found a few walleyes in the 22′ range using a half/crawler. Ended up switching to jig heads and a white jig head seemed to do better than other colors.

Among 4 people managed 10 walleye (most 17.5 to 18.5″ or under 13″), lots of smallies, but only one over 18″. I do recommend when fishing with kids, a jig head on the reefs in less than 12′ of water. Tons of rock bass and little smallmouths to keep the kids occupied and busy. When fishing deeper, there was alot of time that passed between fish. My fault for not doing enough searching and hoping old spots to prodcue.

Noticed alot more boats than I remember from previous years. It was nice to see that everyone still respected each others space.
