What do you use if the crappies are suspended after dark? What type of slip bobber brand do you use, and what jig or spoon do you use.. Using minnows.

I like the smallest pencil style that I can get away with. Generally a bare circle/octopus hook under a split shot.

for me what works after dark is any jig that glows. crappie minniow hooked thru the back fin but to where you dont kill it. smaller bobber that doesn’t take much to sink. mostly dead stick it but every once and a while jig it and let it set. good luck out there!

I have had my best luck with thin balsa Thill floats weighted to be neutrally buoyant when fishing crappies. It actually works crazy good if you weigh the float so it slowly sinks, about 1/2″-1″ a second. I don’t know why but it works stupid good.

The link included us usually my float of choice.
