Clinch. One of the very few knots I can tie with frozen fingers.

Yep
January 13, 2014 at 5:32 pm #1379543When I am using a jig and minnow or a jigging Rapala I prefer to use a loop knot this allows the presentation to sit horizontal in the water after jigging with out looking unnatural. Hope this helps you with more options for what knot to use with different presentations.

But some lures in order to hold them in a horizontal position you need to use a tight knot to keep it in place so you need to be flexable. RH
January 14, 2014 at 3:28 pm #1379828Palomar for everything! Besides when tying floating fly line to a tapered tippet.
January 14, 2014 at 3:45 pm #13798322 knots, 2 uses… rapala loop for my horizontal jigs and jiggn raps, helps keep them balanced nicely instead of adjusting constantly.
Everything else for ice… trilene knot. That usually covers it til musky season when the palomar knot is the only way to go
