    I Just wanted to thank my Dad for buying me my first flasher. A Marcum Showdown 5.6 for Christmas. Woo Hoo. Can’t wait to use it. Thanks for still spoiling me at 35 dad!!! I love you!

    Enjoy. I like mine a lot.

    Mine was acting up the other day. Not sure if it was the charge or if I drilled into a thick weed bed in shallow water. It never got a read on the bottom and was all over the place. Moved out to 30′ of water and it seemed fine??

    Could be a bad battery, weeds, fish, baitfish, slush/ice/snow stuck on the bottom of the ducer, or gain. I always check the gain and the ducer when I have that issue, and switch batteries if I have a spare. If it isn’t one of those I “dig” around for weeds, if it isn’t that I assume it is fish or baitfish, if I can rule out fish I switch holes. If it worked fine in 30 feet, I would guess that it isn’t an equipment malfunction or bad battery.
