I had gotten out of the ice fishing gig for a while. Decided to jump back into this year. Fished a few backwater areas of the river, overall the bite was slow. We managed to put about 25 fish on the ice but most where smaller in size. I kept five for snack all the rest released. Small diamond jigs tipped with a waxie produced most fish color didn’t seem to matter, to much movement seemed to shy fish away, 7-10FOW was best. All in all it feels good to be on hard water again and looking forward to some more trips out this season.

Despite some slow action I am sure you enjoyed being back on the ice again. Remember having a
great time in the outdoors and enjoying the sport is not always just about catching fish. I hope you have the time to enjoy this great sport many more times this season. Good luck fishing and as always be safe.
