A job change this spring has put me 18 miles from Fort Peck Dam and a change in the weather has things looking cool for ice fishing this winter. While Fort Peckerwood will take quite some time to freeze other bodies of water should be ready to go in 3 weeks or so. After living in trout country for the past few winters I am excited to chase the warmwater species of perch and walleye again.

I predict I will be setting some personal records on walleye and pike this winter

I have done minimal research into the fort peck ice bite, best of luck fishing there. Some of the eyes are sumos they get out of peck – QB

Most of the small ponds were iced up today and stayed iced up even though we hit 50. I’m guessing there will be very fishable ice by the weekend before thanksgiving!
