Reel Lube

    Is it ok to use my Frabill sub-zero lube for my open water reels also? Does anyone use the same thing for both hard water and open water reels?

    What is it? oil? grease? graphite grease?

    It is a little heavier than a good grease for open water. Something like Hot Sauce is a better choice for open water in my opinion.

    I just finished up cleaning my openwater reels and the hot sauce really holds well in the reels throughout the season.

    Yeah it would probably work just fine. Remember to only grease gears and oil bearings.

    I use M-PRO 7 in my ice reels and it works great. just relubed my open water reels last night
