I picked up a used lx-3 and Im having a hard time seeing my jig on the flasher. Ive tried changing batteries and tighting the cord ends. It just isnt very clear and seems to not be giving a good return. I tried my vexilar in the same spot and am getting a good return and can easily see my jig. I wanna get this figured out as I would like to use the zoom of the marcum.
Might need new transducer.
Had the same thing with one it was transducer. Gain maxed out still couldent see it.
I was thinking it was the transducer…but it also shows alot of clutter too and isnt very clear on the flasher.
definitely the transducer had the same problems you mentioned got a new transducer and it works perfect now. 
Transducers get bounced around a lot and the bottoms of them can get scratched up pretty good. It all leads to them not working so well. If in question see if you can hook up a transducer from else with a LX3 and give it a quick try. You should know right away if that is it.
