Spear hole

Got the spear house out on the lake and can get out every couple days sometimes only on weekend. Anyone have any tricks up the sleeve to keeping hole from freezing so much during the week. It is a portable with wooden floor canvas sides suitcase style. Can’t leave a heater. I was thinking of putting some of the pink insulation over the hole when not in it.

That’s what we would do. We had a cover that fit over the hole with the pink insulation. There would be some skim ice, but a boot or if it was really cold a little chiseling would take care of it.

We used to have a small door that we would put over the hole – seemed to do a pretty good job.
Insulation would only help…
