Does anyone know of a good place to but a custom longbow? I have been looking on the internet but was just wondering if there was one around the La Crosse area. (Like 3 hours away) I am gonna ditch the compound and go with a longbow this year for more of a challenge.

There used to be several bowyers in Wisconsin and I can’t find any of there addresses now. So, what I would do is call Lamont at the Footed Shaft in Rochester, Minn., 507-288-7581, he sould be able to help you out. Good luck. I’ve got 3 bows from a guy in Wis. Rapids, not sure if he’s around anymore. They’re called Big River Bows, then there was a Dwyer Bows I think from Homan. I think there also was a guy from Bee Town.

July 16, 2005 at 4:46 pm #9022There is a guy I know of that builds self bows by you. From what I’ve seen they are pretty good craftsmanship.
The footed shaft has a website and I think they are the place with a large collection of used bows. http://www.users.uswest.net/~footedshaft/
Just lookin at the used stuff, he has a couple of morrisons and a vincent minor bow that would be cool to look at. Prices don’t seem that bad.
