Spooning Crappies

Over the holiday weekend I decided to chase crappies on the chain. Mainly due to I didn’t have a decent place to hunt geese. The crappies in the early hours of the mourning were spread out on a flat and took buck shot rattle spoons with aggression. Once the sun started to shine the crappies moved off the drop and suspended in a tight school. Then it was easy. I marked their depth on my line with a bobber stop and kept on using a buck shot. I had many boats stop by and watch. Most never caught a fish and I never saw anyone else catch a crappie. When someone was watching I would just drop the spoon to the bottom and drag it until they passed. I caught enough for a meal and had a lot of fun just cathing and letting go.

Way cool, I love tight line twitching over the boat for crappies
