House was 74 degrees and temp from vents was 51.6. Should it be colder then that?
I think that’s pretty close to mine too. When we get these super hot, muggy days my AC simply can’t keep up during the warmest hours of the afternoon and evening. I have it set at 72 and it’ll creep up to 74 or 75 regularly.
Would your hvac friend be willing to install a new one for you? You can buy the ac unit/parts yourself and have him install it. We did this last year and we did it for under $1600. We didnt have central air prior so started from scratch. I did the electrical and hvac guy did everything else.
