I’ve been traveling on business since early August and took advantage of an offer to get out on the water to chase white bass with one of the mechanics I have been working with the past few weeks. Throwing 1 ounce lead “spoons” to steep wood laden river channel edges was the technique of the day. The white bass were running small, but after hooking what I swear was the same stump for the third time, it suddenly moved as I attempted to straighten the treble and retrieve the spoon. 20 minutes later, and several unsuccessful netting attempts, this 25 pound big head buffalo, made its way into the boat. What a powerful fish.

Bigmouth buffalo. Not to be confused with the invasive bighead carp.

    Very nice catch!

Can I get that on a treble hook as a “decoy” sucker for fishing muskie this Fall?

Thought I typed bigmouth but alas, I got hosed by auto correct again!
