July 11, 2011 at 9:49 pm #979859Wonder if lakemaster chips will only fit humminbird units from now on?

But think about how much would be gained from guys buying humminbird over lowrance so they can use the chips.

July 11, 2011 at 10:04 pm #979868I wonder if this would make Lowrance not want to support Lakemaster?

It’s possible. Lowrance hardly supports its own software.July 12, 2011 at 8:40 pm #980177I looked on lakemaster’s website and they dont show lowrance chips anymore. I then sent an email to Bruce Samson asking him about it being the Lowrance/LM guy he is. He said as of right now they aren’t offering Lowrance chips so if you need one you might wanna go get one before they are gone!
I have a hard time believing that Lowrance would just let LM walk away so easy if they didnt have something up their own sleeve

you mean HB and Lakemaster?? Isn’t Minn Kota owned by Johnson outdoors, which also Owns HB (which now owns Lakemaster….)
All one big company now, right?
So the question is…. I was going to buy an ipilot/Terrova next spring. Will there be some big new product release that I should be watching for? (example, contour trolling, ipilot controls from console sonar, etc…) ???
fargotridadPosts: 72July 22, 2011 at 3:25 pm #982985SUcks to be Motor Guide and Lowrance. This could cripple them. I have only ran Lowrance. This might have to change on the boat I am ordering.
