Course UP vs. North Up

    Has Humminbird and/or Lakemaster resolved the issue of having to run Humminbird units in North Up to see all of the capabilities of the chip?

    Hi,
    Looking at the release notes for my 998c level 5.210 (this is one level back from current release), the course up/North problem was fixed. I would guess any of the 5.xxx firmware release for the other units would also have the fix.

    The course up and north up problem comes from the processor on the older units not being able to keep up with all the information on the newer Lakemaster chips. The processor handles the information better with north up because it does not have to refresh as often. Has nothing to do with updating the unit. My Navionics chip runs perfect in my Hbird but this chip isn`t so data laden as the Lakemaster.
