Was wanting a good GPS App. for Android phone. Really all I need is to mark a way point so can find way out of woods after deer or Mushroom hunting. Do you use one you could recommend?

Navionics might be overboard for what he wants. A free option that I used on an android tablet in the past was Locus Maps.

HuntStand is a free one that we use. It’s pretty cool, you can place trails and property boundaries, as well as different kinds of waypoints for ground blinds, stands, game trails, etc.

I know a lot of guys that run huntstand. Just be aware that your phone doesn’t have the level of satellite tracking that a typical hand help GPS does. A handheld will often track from 5 to 12 satellites. Your phone much less or uses the triangular pings from towers. Also, if you are in woods with heavy foliage and very restrictive view to the sky, you can lose your tracking. I encounter this a lot with dense pines that are snow covered.
