The government is no different than a credit card company. If you don’t think they are going to get theirs right off the top your completely oblivious. If they didn’t I wouldn’t get paid. And .68 cents only gets you the possibility of having an obsolete method of communication delivered. (Edit) Oh yeah and the met council can suck it.

I agreed with you up to this point. Not so much so after that point though.

Really so you are in favor of all of Moriarty’s shenanigans including letting juvenile thugs off easy and charging the state trooper. I am surprise at this from you cry

I am not a fan of Governor Walz, but I will give him a little credit for jumping in on the appalling issues that are occurring with the Hennepin County DA and on the Uber/Lyft issue in Minneapolis.

Minneapolis is full of people that need Uber and Lyft just to navigate their life.

They can pay to navigate their life. I pay to navigate mine. Again, taxpayers are funding trains and busses. Politicians can stay away from the rideshare topic. It’s a private company and they can run it as they see fit.

Building train lines for no one … don’t get me started.

You do realize I am not talking about the drivers, but the great number of people that rely on Uber and Lyft to get around to doctor appointments, therapy, etc… This is why Walz is attempting to step in. If it was just the drunk 22-year-olds bar hopping on Uber – I am not so sure he would care.

I mean, I know you’re just waiting for the day that socialism knocks down your door, steals your money, seduces your wife, gives your job to an immigrant, and “turns your kids gay”

So what your saying is socialism found your parents house when you were a kid?

It’s okay guys, we found the one person who likes USPS, and obviously has no understanding of how USPS doesn’t work same as Public Transport and Healthcare. Bonus was I had my money on Comrade Donson for a 1 seed in the IDO Preposterous Statement Tournament, so I have that going for me. Which is nice.

I was going to say the same thing. The USPS is cheap and is propped up by tax dollars for decades. Far from a model comparison and how that applies here to a discussion about rideshare is beyond me. Are you going to mail yourself to the Dr?

People managed to get around before the ride share was even a thing. I’m cool if people don’t want to own a car, it’s just not governments place to dictate wages beyond minimum wage.

Capitalism is an economic system characterized by private ownership of the means of production, with labor solely paid wages

Socialism is an economic system in which major industries are owned by the workers themselves, rather than by private businesses or the state. It is different from capitalism, where private actors, like business owners and shareholders, can own the means of production for themselves

Biden’s world is not for me. His view of Socialism reeks more of Oligarchy than Socialism. It is about power, keeping it in the hands of the few and taking rights and privilege away from those of us who work to earn it. What their are trying to do now to Trump is a chilling foretellinmg of any our own futures. They don’t like you – you are gone.
The history with Trump alone should show it’s an abuse of power for political gain, not for our benefit.
Capitalism works – history has shown that socialism is not sustainable.
Another 1,200,000,000.00 budget – our kids, grand and great are screwed.

The 1.2 trillion budget is a joke. It is to be credited to both sides of the aisle. They both are shameful, deceitful, and borderline unamerican. What they are subjecting this country to is almost a crime. Do your damn jobs.

It took them four kicks at the can too! Three short term CR’s since October.

They need to start working on the FY25 budget next month. Not in August.
