The cold is going to keep me out of it this year. Below zero to start the day sounds like no fun to me.
What a difference over last winter.

Boat and gear should be ok
Mine is kept in cold garage
Go have fun and be safe.
Oh I’ve done it before but cracked my pipes on live well trying to keep fish alive snapped rods and now there will be 20 boats instead of 70 more the merrier that’s what this tournament is about
There was always talk about having a “trophy” for the first person to come back to the bait shop during the FYB off…. Normally it was Eric Anderson and Jami Ritter…
Now they need to have one for the first person to back out online because of the cold! LOL!
Mr. Sauger is the winner!
If it was snowing it most likely wasn’t below zero in your pictures. Cool pictures though. I went one year at the start it was 4F, but warmed to the upper 20’s. A high of 8F I will most likely be out as well.

Hey BK, didn’t WCCO do a piece on the fyb about 4 or5 years ago when it was sub zero and interview you?
Now would be a good time to re-post it!

Snow picture was 8F
The picture of my transom was after a below zero day on pool 3 where water temp is 31.5
My cutoff is -5 with a 20 mph wind…I will not do that again.
Coldest I was on pool 4 this year is -8
This is what -5 with a 20 looks like.
Being in a deep freezer with a fan blowing mist… Yikes. No fun. You’ll never see more eagles than on days like these however
Picture from shore was before I launched and broke up all the ice
