Coming up on Saturday for a week. What is the water level up there on Big V? I have never been on the lake. I have a good map but have heard levels are low up north. How does this affect working shoreline areas?

Vermilion seemed to be down a bit, but not as much as other lakes. Rocks are ALWAYS a problem on Vermilion-if you hit bottom, you likely are hitting rock. You are safe working the shores, just be smart and attentive. Watch your graph and move slow.
The water levels on Vermilion are down a little, nothing to worry about if you use a little common sense. The main lake areas are pretty worry free if you stay away from the marker bouys. I never come in close to shore or islands hot on that lake, boulders come up out of nowhere close to shore.
Just in case you want to know, the walleyes are starting to move out in the main lake structure.
