How long do you think it will be before James correctly spells Vermilion with one “L”??? Common mistake-so maybe we should let him slide on this one….NAH!
Does anybody know why it is spelled w/ one “L”? I dont. I always assumed that it was named for the “vermillion” color-but the color has 2 “L”s. Was it just a mistake that they made when giving the lake its name? My uncle has a place on Potato Lake in Park Rapids. Potato is connected to Fish Hook. However, they goofed when recording the names because Potato is shaped like a fish hook and Fish Hook is shaped like a Potato.
Have I rambled enough? Man…I need to get on the water!
