Here are a bunch of pics from the trip! Like I said a mixed bag is what came to the boat each day.

The above picture is my brother Tony hoisting a nice 40″ musky that hit a crank bait just seconds after releasing a walleye. He more less just threw it out by the boat to make sure the lure was still tuned correctly and Wham!.

Here is a 44″ musky that hit a small topwater that we were fishing for small mouth.

Here is one of many nicer than average fish that came from this small pod of submerged weeds.

Here is a nice pike that fell victim to the very same weed bed we were pitching our jigs to. If you look in the back ground, you can see some stove pipe weeds, the under water cabbage was just out from here and only about 100 yards wide by 40 yards deep and we proceeded to catch over 100 walleyes and many pike and smallies from the same area.

Here is a nice smallie that fell victim to my father own hand tied “JimmyD’s hair jigs! These jigs worked awesome when just swimmed slowly back to the boat with a near motion less action.

Great Report DeeZee! Sounds like a great trip.
Just curious on how far the Island Resort was from the boat launch and how did you find the resort once you left the dock at Morison?

    Ron,

The total miles from Morson Marina to Meads Spruce Island camp is about 24 miles. They give you there GPS coordinates if they are not out there to guide you back to theie camp. They usually had a boat either taking customers back or picking them up from the Marina, so following their boat back to the island is what we did. Otherwise a good Canadian Topo map and follow the main travel route buoys on the lake. The entire trip is through miles and miles of islands and not really expose to any bad wind areas if the wind did decide to blow pretty hard.

Here is their website is anyone is interested.
