Very interesting reading, especially for those that fly periodically… A Delta pilot gives his account of the direction and control of the airspace and obtaining landing clearance. A lot of credit needs to be given to the pilots and crews to get the flights safely landed after the earthquake disaster.

Considered getting a private pilots license at one time…but wife reminded me that I ran out of gas twice since she’s known me.

I asked him how he deals with the stress of getting several hundred people on the ground safely. His reply, “I only care about 1 person on this plane landing safely.”
