Just returned from a two week trip to Cass. Try Kitchi along the weedbeds for Crappies. As far as places to stay, there are a lot of resorts around the entire area. Not much for motels right at Cass Lake unless you want to stay at the Casino. It’s only a short drive to the lake.

Definately try Pug Hole. (Between Kitchi and Cass. There is a channel to get in) The 30 fow in the main bay. crappies will suspend anywhere from 1-10 off bottom that time of year.

Bemidji is about 10 miles from Cass and Walker is about 25 or so. Both COC websites list hotels.

Sugar Bush resort is on Big Lake which is just a few miles to the east of Bemidji. The owners are fantastic, the lake is a very good fishing lake, and the prices on his cabins are off the charts. I just spent 3 days last weekend there and as always, it was a great time
