Last night there was a segment about a guy from Illinois that caught a world record 100+ pound blue cat from the mississippi it was a whopper.

Didn’t see the news, but there’s a few other posts around here somewhere that have pics and the story. 124 pounds from the mississippi…NOT BAD at all……Kind of interesting the previous 121lb record was just caught in the past year as well. Just goes to show our fisheries are thriving!!

I know there was talk of letting the fish go back into the river.
May 26, 2005 at 2:43 pm #365006Yes it was too bad it died in transit. The Today show had the lucky fisherman and his wife on this morning. While he made a GREAT catch, they were not a compelling interview, had to feel for them and Katie both. The story was topical…but you don’t always get the gold.
